Story

Born in beautiful Ukrainian land, I always have a special connection to the earth, it’s a place of my strength. In an interior or an object I’m searching for a living energy. Clay, wood, willow, wool are the main elements Victoria works with, that help her to express her nature of "live design" – design with a powerful energy of materials and telling its owner a unique story behind.

In 2014, as a reflection on the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine, Victoria established FAINA - the collection of live furniture, lighting, and decor to show the world unique Ukrainian cultural heritage. Millennia-old crafts, traditions and symbols of the land get a new voice, reinterpreted in modern design.

In 2018 Victoria launched “Land inspires”- the first design expedition in the history of Ukraine that draws attention to the endangered craft techniques and heritage of her motherland.
FAINA objects by Victoria Yakusha were presented at Collectible Fair, Milan Design Week, Venice Biennale, Dutch design week, Paris design week, Stockholm Furniture Fair.

Published in Dezeen, Design Milk, Designboom, Archdaily, Vogue. In 2019/2021 her works were included in annual trend reports and selected as the worlds’ top design trends.
